EFL Students’ Perception of Online Collaborative Writing to Develop Narrative Paragraph Writing Performance at SMAN 62 Jakarta

Abstract

collaborative writing to develop narrative paragraph performance at SMAN 62 Jakarta. This study used a quantitative research method with a survey research design. Data collection in this study was carried out by distributing questionnaires to students of XI MIPA 3 and XI IPS 3 at SMAN 62 Jakarta in April, 2023. The questionnaire comprised 43 items distributed online using Google Forms. There are 64 students completed the questionnaire. The data showed that the students of SMAN 62 Jakarta had good and positive perception about online collaborative writing to develop narrative pharagraph writing performance, seen from the mean score of the perception, which is 80% [good]. The perceptions covered the students’ interests, impacts, challenges, and outcomes. Holistically, the student agreement could be specified as 2% strongly disagreed, 6% disagreed, 61% agreed, and 31% strongly agreed. It means that online collaborative writing can became a promising way to help the students developing their English skills.
