Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using digital short stories in increasing the vocabulary of grade 5 students at SDN Karang Rahayu 03, Cikarang. This study used a pre-experimental design, namely one group pretest-posttest design, carried out in one class. The sample in this study was 30 students from class 5a at SDN Karang Rahayu 03. Before measuring the effectiveness of digital short stories, the researcher conducted a pretest in class and then provided treatments and a posttest. The average pretest result was 29.16, and the posttest average result was 76.8, with a difference of 47.7. This study tested the hypothesis using paired sample t-test to see the effectiveness of the treatments. The t-test showed that the Sig value is 0.000, less than Sig. α (0.05). Thus, Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. The study showed a significant effect of using digital short stories in increasing students' vocabulary at SDN Karang Rahayu 03 Cikarang.
