Abstract

This systematic review aims to identify the effect of using digital storytelling in developing students' writing skills in English learning. By analyzing eleven articles that are relevant to the topic and with a period of publication between 2020-2025. This systematic literature review used the Scientific Procedures and Rationales for Systematic Literature Reviews (SPAR-4-SLR) protocol to investigate this systematic review's objectives. The findings show that digital storytelling can have a positive effect on developing students' writing skills. Implementation of Digital storytelling provides experiences of collaboration and interaction so that students indirectly build their social skills, this is also proven by the results of several studies on the findings above. Future researchers are suggested to examine more deeply the comparison of the results of developing students' writing skills by applying digital storytelling with traditional methods, examining the effect of digital storytelling on students' writing skills with different student backgrounds with previous studies and the effects of technology adoption in the educational context.
