Abstract

This treatment schedule reminder device is designed for patients with coronary heart disease and their family members. Its main purpose is to improve therapy compliance. The device is based on the ESP23 microcontroller and uses the DS3231 RTC module as an accurate timer and alarm. It is powered by a battery. Treatment schedule information is displayed on an LCD screen, and the ESP32 allows for the sending of Telegram messages. Additionally, a buzzer sounds as an alarm reminder to ensure that patients and their companions receive clear and timely notifications. This research utilizes the research and development (R&D) method. Through the combination of components and generated data, the device provides reminders for morning (6.57), afternoon (11.49), and evening (20.05) medication times. The results show that the device works as intended: the alarm activates, the LCD displays relevant information, and a message is sent to the cell phone of a caregiver or family member with coronary heart disease. This multifunctional capability is expected to significantly help patients follow their medication and therapy schedules consistently.
