Attitudes Toward the Use of Artificial Intelligence and Subjective Norms in Academic Integrity in Thesis Writing
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This study aims to analyze the effect of attitudes toward the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and subjective norms on students’ academic integrity in thesis writing. The research employs a quantitative approach with an explanatory type and survey method through questionnaires distributed to 98 respondents selected using purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS. The results show that partially, attitudes toward AI usage do not have a significant effect on academic integrity, while subjective norms have a significant effect. Simultaneously, both variables significantly influence academic integrity with a coefficient of determination of 30.3%. These findings indicate that in an academic context, social norms and institutional regulations play a more dominant role than individual attitudes in influencing students’ academic integrity behavior.
