The evolution of social media has transformed how leaders communicate with the public, with TikTok serving as one such platform. This study aims to analyze the representation of "people-centric" values specifically the spirit of being close to and serving the populace in Sherly Tjoanda’s leadership communication on TikTok. Employing a qualitative approach based on Norman Fairclough’s Critical Discourse Analysis, the study examines three dimensions: text, discourse practice, and social practice. The data consists of 10 videos from the official TikTok account @sherlytjoanda, uploaded between July and August 2026. The findings reveal that these people-centric values are represented through the leader’s presence among the community, her attentiveness to their aspirations, her understanding of local issues, and her responsiveness to public needs. However, the sense of closeness portrayed on TikTok does not yet directly demonstrate public involvement in decision-making processes.
