Author Guidelines

AUTHOR GUIDELINES

Journal of Physics in Teaching, Educational Research, and Applications (JPTERA) accepts high-quality manuscripts in the fields of physics education, pure physics, applied physics, and interdisciplinary studies. Authors are required to follow the guidelines below when preparing manuscripts for submission.

  1. General Requirements
  • Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration in another journal.
  • Manuscripts must be written in English.
  • The manuscript must follow the journal template and be submitted through the OJS system.
  • Similarity index must be below 20%, excluding references.
  • All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process.
  1. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should include the following components:

           Title

  • Clear, concise, and descriptive
  • Written in sentence case
  • Maximum 15–20 words

    Author Information
  • Full names of all authors
  • Affiliations (department, institution, city, country)
  • Email of the corresponding author
  • ORCID ID (recommended)

    Abstract
  • Written in English
  • 150–250 words
  • Includes: background, purpose, methods, results, and conclusion
  • Followed by 3–6 keywords

    Introduction
  • Background and rationale of the study
  • Research gap and problem formulation
  • Objectives of the research
  • Relevant literature review

    Methods
  • Research design, participants, instruments, materials
  • Procedures, data collection, and analysis techniques
  • Ethical approval (if required)

    Results and Discussion
  • Present findings clearly using tables, figures, or diagrams
  • Interpret findings logically
  • Compare with previous studies
  • Discuss implications for physics or physics education

    Conclusion
  • Summarize key findings
  • Limitations and future research recommendations

    Acknowledgments (optional)
  • Funding sources, grants, or contributors

    References
  • Must follow APA style 7th edition
  • Minimum 15 references, with ≥80% from journals
  • Preferably published within the last 10 years
  1. Formatting Requirements
  • Manuscript length: 6–12 pages
  • Paper size: A4
  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides
  • Font: Times New Roman, size 11 (text), size 10 (tables), size 9 (figure captions)
  • Line spacing: 1.15
  • Paragraph spacing: 0 pt before and after
  • Use single-column format
  1. Figures and Tables
  • Must be clear, high resolution, and numbered consecutively
  • Titles placed above tables; captions placed below figures
  • Cite all figures and tables in the text
  • Use consistent formatting
  • Do not use color images unless necessary
  1. Citations and References
  • Use APA Style (7th edition)
  • Use reference managers such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote
  • Ensure all in-text citations appear in the reference list and vice versa
  1. Ethical Considerations

Manuscripts involving human or animal subjects must include:

  • Ethical approval from an official ethics committee
  • Informed consent (for human participants)

Research misconduct (plagiarism, data manipulation, duplication) will lead to rejection.

  1. Submission Process
  • Authors must register and submit manuscripts via the journal’s OJS system.
  • All correspondence is done through the corresponding author’s email.
  • Revisions must be submitted along with a response-to-reviewers document.
  1. Article Processing Fee

JPTERA does not charge any article processing fees (APC).
Submission, review, and publication are free of charge.

Authors must use the journal template available on the website.
Templates are provided in both Microsoft Word (.docx) and PDF formats.
