Abstract

Abstract

Trends in digital learning have increased the demand for microlearning media that

emphasize concise, focused, and flexible content delivery. However, the

implementation of microlearning still faces challenges in providing assessment

mechanisms that promote active learner engagement and reflective learning. One

potential solution to this issue is the integration of the assessment as learning concept

with artificial intelligence, enabling microlearning assessments to function not only as

evaluation tools but also as adaptive learning supports. This study aims to develop

AI-Assisted Assessment as Learning Tools for microlearning using the 4D development

model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). The Define stage involved an analysis of

learning needs and AI-based assessment characteristics, with a focus on English tenses

as the instructional content. The Design stage produced an assessment system

framework integrating automated feedback and learner personalization. The Develop

stage included prototype development using an AI agent platform, followed by

feasibility testing through expert validation and usability evaluation. The Disseminate

stage was conducted on a limited scale within a learning community. Validation results

showed a media expert score of 87% (very feasible) and a content expert score of 84%

(feasible). In addition, the System Usability Scale (SUS) score of 76 indicated good

usability and user acceptance. Overall, the developed learning media are valid and

suitable for use as assessment as learning tools in microlearning.
