Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice or Microsoft Word document file format.
  • Manuscripts should be written in English, double spaced, uses a 12-point font, Times New Roman in A4 paper, 4,500—5,500 words in length, employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The manuscript can be based on a research paper, which reports interesting and relevant research, or non-research papers, which provides detailed, contextualized reports of aspects of ELT.
  • The manuscript based on a research paper should consist of:
    - Title (bold typed and centered)
    - An abstract of approximately 75-100 words
    - Key words
    - Introduction (without subtitle, containing background of the study, a short review of literature, and statement of problem/purpose of the study)
    - Methodology
    - Finding and Discussion
    - Conclusions and Suggestions
    - References (only the ones used in the analysis)
    - Biography (on separated sheet)
  • The non-research manuscript (conceptual paper) should consist of:

    - Title (bold typed and centered)
    - An abstract of approximately 75-100 words
    - Key words
    - Introduction (without subtitle, presents background of the problem the paper addresses, limitation of the problem to discuss, and an explanation of the relevance of the paper to JET)
    - Discussion
    - Conclusions and Suggestions
    - References (only the ones used in the analysis)
    - Biography (on separated sheet)
  • To facilitate the blind review process, author's name, affiliation, and email address should appear only on a cover sheet, not on the title.
  • All manuscript should conform to the APA Style Manual
  • Peer reviewers will review articles. The editors reserve the right to edit article for format consistency without altering the substance.
  • Manuscripts should be sent as email attachment file (word document) to jet@uki.ac.id
  • If and when the article is accepted for publication, the copyright to the article is transferred to JET, so contributors should fill in and send JET’s Copyright Transfer Agreement to jet@uki.ac.id as a file attachment.
  • A contributor is entitled to two copies of the current volume if the article is published
  • Contributors whose articles are rejected would get written information. Rejected article would not be sent back unless it is requested by the contributor.

Author Guidelines

Contributors should consult the current Guide for contributors before submitting articles, as this contains important information about the focus and format of articles. Articles not submitted in accordance with the Guide will not be considered for publication. Any questions regarding submission guidelines, or more detailed inquiries about less common citation styles, may be addressed to the Editorial Board.
