Abstract

This article provides a review of the book published by Yayasan Kalyanamitra, authored by Hegel Terome, Ika Agustina, Listyowati, Rena Herdiyani, Puansari Siregar, and Fr. Yohana TW, titled Leaders Are Not Born: Praktik Kepemimpinan Perempuan di Komunitas. The motivation behind this book arises from the observation that development in Indonesia has not yet resulted in significant changes to establish an equitable and just social order for both women and men. Women continue to face gender inequality in the planning, implementation, and utilization of development outcomes. This is evident in the marginalization and discrimination they experience in accessing public power, engaging with development initiatives, and managing resources.
